ABOUT ME

I’m Dinesh Dutta—a visual artist, educator, examiner, and mentor. My journey with art began in rural India, where I worked with clay and paint from a young age. At 13, I had the privilege of studying under the professional artist Cyril Suaris, and by 15, I was already working alongside designers and in film studios in Mumbai. After completing my postgraduate studies in Fine Art at the renowned JJ School of Arts, I dedicated myself to both my own studio practice and to guiding the next generation of creatives.

Since 2009, I’ve been teaching in the International Baccalaureate (IBDP, MYP) and Cambridge (CIAE) programs. Over the years, I’ve also led art therapy workshops for professionals and mentored countless students preparing for careers in the creative arts. My students are regularly accepted into the world’s top universities—often with impressive scholarships.

But my work goes far beyond portfolio preparation. I focus on building strong, independent thinkers and makers. Through intensive studio practice and one-on-one mentorship, I guide students in exploring both traditional and contemporary media—including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, installation, photography, printmaking, and digital forms. I believe in process-based, concept-driven learning that helps students discover their unique voice and grow into confident, thoughtful creatives.

I also bring a global perspective to my teaching through my involvement with the Euro Culture team and international educator residencies in Germany, France, Spain, and Bulgaria. These experiences have enriched my approach to art education—emphasizing cultural dialogue, experimentation, and 21st-century learning.
